Bolcom's 'Dinner at Eight' with Dunleavy, Powell, Summerfield, Harris et al from Wexford
Concert from the Wexford Festival Opera. Bolcom’s 'Dinner at Eight' is an opera to a libretto by Mark Campbell, based on the eponymous novel by George S. Kaufman. Set in Depression-era Manhattan, the Kaufman–Ferber play revolves around an ill-fated dinner organized by Millicent Jordan, a society hostess labelled “vapid” by the playwrights themselves.
