Live streamLive stream

Rossini's 'Il barbiere di Siviglia' is an opera buffa in two acts with a libretto by Cesare Sterbini. In a public square outside Dr. Bartolo's house a band of musicians and a poor student named Lindoro are serenading, to no avail, the window of Rosina. Lindoro, who is really the young Count Almaviva in disguise, hopes to make the beautiful Rosina love him for himself—not his money. Performers:

Rosina: Isabel Leonard.
Count Almaviva: Alek Shrader.
Figaro: Rodion Pogossov.
Dr. Bartolo: John Del Carlo.
Don Basilio: Jordan Bisch.

Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and Chorus. Conductor: Yves Abel.

Sung in English.
