A world premiere from the Seventeenth Century - 30/10/2011
Can a piece written four centuries ago be a world premiere? The answer is yes.
On Sunday 6th november, the organist Michele Vannelli and Musicians of the King's Road conducted by Markus Yli-Jokipii perform for the first time Pietro Antonio Tamburini's Requiem. This performance takes place in St Mary's Church, in the Finnish city of Turku.
Tamburini was born in Bologna and lived between 1589 and 1635. His Requiem has been untold until our days.
You will be able to listen to this world premiere on World Concert Hall thanks to the Yle Radio 1 broadcasting.
