Grand Théâtre de Genève

Like many of his counterparts, the Grand Theatre of Geneva is both a place and an institution. It is a majestic building towering over the Place Neuve, opened Oct. 2, 1879, reopened in 1962 after a renovation made necessary by fire, and home to the largest platform in Switzerland. It is the largest structure of production and reception of western Switzerland, where they gave performances of opera and ballet, recitals, concerts, and occasionally plays.
